“It’s fun to grab snacks and get outdoors to explore the coast,” says Ed Curry, Director of Sales and Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey, adding: “It’s a great reminder of why we love California.”

Cyclists can experience the Marvin Braude Bike Trail, a 22-mile path known as “The Strand,” that runs from Torrance County Beach to Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades that includes popular local destinations like Redondo Beach Pier, Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach along the way. The path runs directly past the hotel, cutting through a green space filled with trees and running alongside the newly opened Oxford Retention Basin that serves as a natural habitat for wildlife.

For guests interested in renting a road bike for longer rides, the concierge can arrange specialty bikes to be delivered to the hotel. For experienced bike enthusiasts, the Marina del Rey Cycle Club meets at a nearby bike shop (start times vary depending on the season) every Sunday morning for a journey that covers multiple regions in Los Angeles. The route is different each weekend, and can vary in length from 50 to 70 miles. Short rides are also available that are 25 to 35 miles long. Group riding etiquette must be followed and a helmet is required.

All bikes are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the hotel’s fitness center from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. For information regarding area routes, please call the hotel concierge directly at 310-574-4277.
